Jyoti Yoga FAQs: Admissions, Fees & Studio Rules

Clear, direct policies on everyday batches, teacher training credentials, fee schedules, medical readiness, and attendance rules at our Dehradun facility.

Verified Studio Guidelines (Updated for Current Academic Session)

Yes. Over 70% of our daily practitioners join with zero prior yoga experience and tight hamstrings or stiff backs. We begin with Sukshma Vyayama (subtle joints activation) and the Pawanmuktasana series before progressing to complex classical poses.

Our studio uses yoga blocks, straps, and bolsters so every student works safely within their biological range of motion without force or strain.

Health & Beginner Foundational Level

  • Evening Batches: 05:00 PM – 06:15 PM (Classical Asana & Strength), 06:30 PM – 07:45 PM (Restorative Asana & Guided Yoga Nidra).

Jyoti Yoga charges standardized institutional rates without hidden maintenance costs:

  • Regular Group Classes: Tiered as Monthly, Quarterly (10% waiver), or Bi-annual plans. Includes 6 weekly instructed sessions.
  • Private 1-on-1 Sessions: Tailored for injury rehabilitation, prenatal guidance, or personalized sadhana. Invoiced per block of 12 or 24 dedicated sessions.
  • Trial/Drop-in: Single evaluation sessions are credited against your full enrollment fee upon immediate joining.

Please contact the front desk directly on WhatsApp or phone for the current semester rate card.

Fees & Refunds Transparent Billing

All fee payments (for group batches and teacher-training registrations) are non-refundable once the course or month commences.

Membership Freezing: If you face documented medical illness, fractures, travel relocation, or examinations, you can request a "Freeze" on your active membership for up to 60 days by giving 48 hours prior written notice to the studio administration.

Fees & Refunds Official Policy Rule

Students on monthly subscriptions are granted up to 2 compensatory makeup classes per calendar month. To qualify, you must notify the desk via WhatsApp at least 4 hours before your regular slot.

Make-up sessions must be taken within the same billing month in any alternative available time slot; they cannot be rolled over into future billing cycles.

Classes & Timetable Attendance Rule

Yes. Our 200H, 300H, and 500H diplomas adhere to the globally accepted educational standards of the International Yoga Alliance (USA) guidelines.

The curriculum includes contact hours in Asana Technique, Subtle Biomechanics, Pranayama, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Teaching Pedagogy, and Hands-on Practicum. Graduates are qualified to teach professionally in studios, schools, and retreat centers internationally.

Teacher Training Worldwide Validity

Selection depends strictly on your existing certifications and instructional experience:

  • 200 Hour TTC: The mandatory foundation course. Required for anyone who has never completed a formal teaching certification.
  • 300 Hour TTC: Advanced level. Open *only* to students who hold an existing 200-Hour certificate from any recognized yoga school.
  • 500 Hour Master Track: Comprehensive dual program combining foundational pedagogy with advanced therapy and philosophical shastras.
Teacher Training Course Prerequisites

Every enrolled TTC student receives our proprietary Jyoti Yoga Teacher Training Manual, an Anatomy Workbook, a Neti cleansing pot, a mala for Japa meditation, and a printed syllabus notebook.

Reference readings (e.g., Hatha Yoga Pradipika, The Key Muscles of Yoga) can be previewed on our Yoga Study Material directory and accessed via the studio library.

Teacher Training Inclusions Guarantee

Prior to your first class, our instructors complete an intake assessment noting existing musculoskeletal limitations, spinal injuries (L4-L5 herniations, sciatica), hypertension, or post-surgery recoveries.

Students with severe disc issues are given specific forward-fold contraindications, passive traction supports, and therapeutic alternatives. If your condition is acute, we mandate doctor clearance or recommend individual Yoga Therapy sessions first.

Health & Beginner Clinical Safety

Pregnant practitioners are not admitted into standard, high-intensity Hatha or Vinyasa group batches due to intense abdominal compressions, inversions, and closed twists.

Expectant mothers can enroll in dedicated Prenatal sessions (after the 14th week / second trimester) led by certified prenatal instructors, provided an official clearance certificate from their Obstetrician is submitted.

Health & Beginner Safety Policy

Please wear breathable, stretchable athletic wear (cotton tees, track pants, or yoga leggings). Avoid loose belts or excessive jewelry. Yoga is practiced barefoot.

We supply sanitized studio mats and sanitized props, though students are strongly encouraged to bring their own personal mat for daily hygiene. Bring a copper or stainless steel water bottle and a small sweat towel.

Location & Facility Studio Protocol

Asana practice requires an empty stomach for diaphragm mobility and visceral decompression:

  • Heavy meals: Allow a gap of 3.5 to 4 hours before class.
  • Light snacks (fruit, nuts, tea): Allow a minimum gap of 60 to 90 minutes.
  • Water: Sip plain room-temperature water up to 20 minutes before class. Avoid heavy hydration during intense asana practice.

Online batches run via live two-way Zoom video feeds with full audio communication. The teacher actively watches student form and gives real-time verbal alignments and corrections.

Classes & Timetable Virtual Learning

Regular adult batches welcome practitioners aged 14 years to 75+ years. Classes are modified to suit age demographics—teens build stamina and flexibility, while senior citizens focus on joint mobility, bone density, and autonomic stability.

Children under 14 are recommended for our specialized seasonal yoga kids camps.

Health & Beginner All Ages Welcome
